Identification method: Visual. Kaolinite was reported from the Parker Mtn. Mine by noted New England field collector Philip C. Foster in an article in the Granite Chips newsletter of the Southeastern New Hampshire Mineral Club, Vol. XX - No. 10, Nov. 1982, pg. 3: "Kaolinite...is found as fine dusting coatings or as thin films on altering microcline, especially on the originally exposed surfaces of this mineral."
Kaolinite identification of this specimen confirmed by EDS analysis. Elements lighter than Na do not register on EDS detector.
